Katimavik kanata
Welcome to Katimavik – Hazeldean, a neighbourhood right in the heart of the suburb of Kanata. Bounded by Highway 417 on the north, Hazeldean Road on the south, Eagleson Road on the East, and Terry Fox Drive to the west – this area is considered to be one of the first established in Kanata, dating back to the 1960s. Interesting fact, Katimavik means “Gathering Place”, which is aptly named considering the Katimavik – Hazeldean area sits right in the central hub of Kanata with homes intertwined with shopping developments, schools, and retirement residents. Residents who live in this neighbourhood have the easiest access to the city of Ottawa’s popular sports facilities such as the west end “Sensplex” sports complex, the Kanata Rec Centre, the Kanata Leisure Centre and Wave Pool – all gathered alongside local conveniences like Costco, Farm Boy, and numerous well known restaurants chains and shopping.
