Welcome to Kanata Lakes! This family oriented and extremely convenient neighbourhood is located in the suburb of Kanata – just 16 minutes West of downtown Ottawa.
To start with, the location offers a lot of conveniences for the relocating family including a large shopping area and amenities. The main shopping is located in and around the Centrum Shopping Centre. This shopping area includes such conveniences as a grocery store, theatre, Chapters, Starbucks, Walmart and so much more. The area is comprised of mostly newer builds and offers great schools, park design and growing areas of new builds. It is located adjacent to one of the older neighbourhoods in Kanata of Beaverbrook. Speaking of schools – some of the ones located in the area are All Saints Catholic High School, St. Gabriel School, Earl of March Secondary School, Georges Vanier School and W. Erskine Johnson School.

This particular part of Kanata was developed with the intention of being considered somewhat of a “Garden City”.
As such, it has a feeling of living in a separate area of a well thought out suburb. With the homes to the far north bordering along a large greenspace known as Beaver Pond Forest and Trails, as well as running along the centre of this neighbourhood you’ll find a large golf course named after the neighbourhood itself “Kanata Lakes Golf and Country Club”.
Moreover, the area offers unique pathway system in a well-thought out design. This allows, families to navigate from their homes to shopping, transit or parks. It’s a very walkable neighbourhood which makes it very popular.
Third, the area has tall mature trees and an abundance of parks and walking paths along them. This adds to the feeling of living in a ‘Garden City’ design.
