The demographics in this area suggest the large majority of the population are renters versus homeowners, which creates a neighbourhood filled with duplexes, triplexes, and older rental properties. The greenspace near the Rideau River attracts dog walkers, families, and baseball players, along with the new footbridge in nearby Overbrook makes connecting to the city easier for those who work downtown and want to walk or bike to work. Vanier South is considered to be one of the more affordable neighbourhoods this close to downtown, but it’s in need of some TLC. So, if you’re someone who likes a good project then Vanier South could be for you. There are a lot of upgrades and changes coming to this neighbourhood.
