Welcome to Vanier North! Vanier Ontario was once a fully Francophone city on its own, is now an ever gentrifying neighbourhood in the city of Ottawa. This neighbourhood experienced a significant time of poverty and suffering after the second World War, which helped establish its cultural reputation and became a powerful symbol of Franco-Ontarian culture. Vanier North borders the trendy Beechwood Avenue, busy Montreal Road, and two large cemeteries. This northern part of the village is known for its quaint residential streets lined with older homes, a cluster of apartment towers near the Rideau River Parkway, and new condo developments along Beechwood Avenue, all add to the mix of this unique neighbourhood.
