SOUTH OTTAWA
Welcome to the neighbourhood of Riverside South. This area is bounded by Leitrim Road to the north and Rideau Road to the south, Bowesville Road to the east and the Rideau River to the west. This suburban neighbourhood is located just southwest of Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport. In the early 1990s this area was primarily farmland, and over the last few decades there has been extensive housing development that has grown at the pace of other major suburban communities such as Barrhaven, Kanata and Orleans.

Riverside South has quickly become a major community with expansions to the south closer to Manotick and to the east closer to Findlay Creek. In one of our earlier neighbourhood tours we touched on The Vimy Memorial Bridge that crosses the Rideau River and links the Riverside South community with Barrhaven, allowing for added access to amenities and shops in the neighbouring suburb. The area has a very strong community association, which offers great day camps, youth drop-ins, and activities. Several beautiful and accessible parks and green-spaces in the Riverside South area are connected through trails and pathways. What a great place to live and raise a family.
