Hunt Club Woods Ottawa Neighbourhood Tour

Welcome to the Hunt Club Woods – Quintarra – Revelstoke neighbourhood! This long, narrow River Ward area takes us from Heron Park in the north all the way down to HERE at Echolands Park in the South. Most of this neighbourhood sits on the eastern shore of the Rideau River.

We’re going to start in the southern part of this suburban Ottawa area, which is very close to the Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport. Also just known as the Ottawa International Airport, it was first opened back in 1927 and is now Ontario’s second busiest airport.

This major international connection serves as an airport of entry and retains its military heritage as the base for one of the Royal Canadian Air Force’s Transport Squadrons. At just over 10 kilometres from downtown Ottawa, the airport is very convenient for those traveling into the area from all over the world.

Hunt Club Woods Ottawa – Quintarra – Revelstoke Neighbourhoods

Hunt Club Woods – Quintarra – Revelstoke is home to about 6,000 residents who enjoy a lot more than proximity to the airport. The neighbourhood has fantastic access to nature trails and greenspace.

Residents enjoy countryside scenery and an easy commute to the city. They can also walk or hike on the long trail that runs along nearby hydro lines behind community separators. When it’s time to relax, there are 10 parks to choose from in this community.

Most of the homes in this scenic neighbourhood were built in the 1960s and 70s. The homes are predominantly single-family detached homes and townhomes with three or four bedrooms. There are some large apartment buildings as well, but the majority of residents own their homes being 88.2% owner occupied whereas the overall Ottawa average is 65.7%. Rentals in the area are limited as only 11.8% of the properties are rentals vs the Ottawa average of rental properties being 34.3%. As mentioned, the majority of homes were constructed in the 60s and 70s with 44% of the properties. For the properties built during the 1980s and 1990s this accounts fro 33.2%. And properties built after the year 2000 this is 16.1% of the properties.

Large homes, abundant greenspace, and the beautiful Rideau River make Hunt Club Woods – Quintarra – Revelstoke a great choice for families moving to Ottawa or those who want to escape the bustle of the city.
